Science and Engineering Challenge

On Tuesday, 21 of our Year 10 students competed in the South West Region Science and Engineering Challenge.  The event is run by the University of Newcastle at Deakin University Warrnambool, supported by Rotary Volunteers and sponsored by Telstra.

Congratulations to our team who won the event and will now compete in the state finals in September.  The students worked in small groups to complete a range of problem-solving tasks,  applying scientific and mathematical skills.  Points were awarded to each group from their results, and the day culminated by testing a bridge that one group had constructed during the day.  The total of all students’ efforts resulted in a clear points win for Timboon over the competing schools.
